Strategist. Researcher. Storyteller.

Vision-driven director & creator that defines problems, builds consensus, & drives results.

11 years of experience in the design, strategy and execution of socially innovative programs committed to realizing the full potential of the open knowledge ecosystem. Former Director of Product & Research at Creative Commons.

What I DO

I help people clarify their vision and theory of impact, while building consensus among necessary stakeholders through discussion, debate, and iterative drafts. Once aligned on a vision, I guide stakeholders to identify resource needs and gaps in research, and to collaboratively develop a strategy and roadmap for implementation.

My process generally involves three phases: 1) Review & Assessment, 2) Concept & Development, 3) Final Recommendation, plus any agreed upon deliverables, e.g. key research insights, project roadmap, or story of impact. The process is adaptive, and has been used in the development of programs, products, and preliminary ideas that are not yet either.

In addition to vision and strategy development for organizations, I am able to provide:

▸ Project management ▸ Design strategy ▸ User research ▸ Product management ▸ Conference & workshop design, including facilitation & presentation ▸ Online course design & instruction ▸ Writing (UX & digital content) ▸ Strategic partner development

Below are some of my past projects.
